Behind the Object

The Object & Its Story

A rectangular cotton wall hanging dyed in layers of natural earth tones — warm terracotta at the base fading through ochre to a pale cream at the top. The dyeing is done by hand using natural extracts (pomegranate rind, iron water, turmeric), so the colour transitions are soft and slightly irregular. The bottom edge has a fringe of twisted cotton threads. It hangs from a simple teak dowel that is included. Dimensions suit a hallway, bedroom wall, or the narrow space beside a door. The cotton is medium-weight and has a slight texture from the hand-spinning.
